Looking back on the past twelve months I’ve been asking myself
“What did I accomplish in 2018?”
And what became obvious is all the personal and professional growth that took place. When I tally up all the stuff I did, all the books I read, all the classes I attended, all the coaching I invested in, I realize there were a lot of people and great resources to point me in the right direction in 2018.
How about YOU? Did you learn new things in 2018? Did you grow? Did you finally invest in YOURSELF?
Being an entrepreneur is a journey that isn’t always smooth or easy. And all of us business owners need help once in a while. Today I’d like to share some of the resources that were particularly helpful to me in 2018…the podcasts that lifted me up, the books that gave me encouragement.
Please check these out and feel free to add them to your toolkit. You never know when they’ll come in handy.
- Tapping into Wealth, by Margaret M. Lynch
Many of us business owners struggle with mindset and beliefs around money. If that’s you, this book is perfect. However, you will have to be willing to get a little “woo woo” and do some EFT tapping. Check out Margaret’s online videos. They show you how to do the tapping, plus she’s funny and very likeable.
- Marketing Lessons from Under the Influence, by Terry O’Reilly
This book is an amazing collection of branding, marketing, and advertising wisdom. Terry is a wonderful narrator, and he really knows how to tell a story. This one I highly recommend in the audiobook format-it will make your drive very enjoyable!
- Playing Big, by Tara Mohr
Another great audiobook, this is specifically aimed at women, who tend to “stay small.” Tara gives lots of tips on gaining confidence and getting out of your own way.
- The Journey, with Gina Schreck. This podcast offers support to all entrepreneurs, because Gina knows entrepreneurship is a hard road…and she “doesn’t want you to go it alone.”
Here’s the one where she interviewed me, back in September 🙂 https://journeywithgina.com/visual-marketing-with-lola-cheyne/
- Being Boss, with Kathleen Shannon and Emily Thompson.
Although primarily aimed at creative entrepreneurs, this podcast shares tons of practical tips for common issues plague business owners.
Genuine Social Tribe, with Jennifer Walker. You can’t go wrong hanging out and learning with Jenn.
This year I invested in my business and worked with Diana Lidstone. If your business needs direction and you need to figure out how to clean things up, check out Diana. She made me think about stuff I’d never considered. The bonus is that she helped me see my value and believe in myself. Check her out here.
And there you have it. That’s the places where I went for help this year. If you feel stuck or like you need inspiration, or just to know there’s others exactly where you are, here’s my list.
I wish you a great holiday and a very successful New Year. I know how hard you work, and sometimes it just helps to know there’s others just like you out there.
Have a wonderful 2019.
